Job Description:
Join our team of talented engineers in the Fort Meade area supporting critical national security programs.  As a full-stack software engineer, you’ll use a wide range of technologies spanning front-end user interfaces, RESTful web services, Java back-end services, and multiple databases (both relational and NoSQL).  At Phoenix, you’ll be continuously challenged to expand your technical skill set in support of our core mission, “Arming the analyst”. 
 
This position will support multiple programs and is open to all candidate levels (junior, mid-level, and senior).  A typical day includes engineering activities across a mid-sized team, developing new capabilities, addressing critical defects, interfacing with mission SMEs, and conducting Scrum activities (stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint demos/retrospectives).  This multi-disciplinary team collaborates daily to meet demanding technical and mission needs.

Technical Skills Required

  • 3+ years of experience in Java software development
  • 2+ years of experience accessing relational databases
  • 2+ years of experience implementing RESTful web services
  • 1+ years of experience using Spring / Spring Boot
  • 1+ years of experience using Git source code control
  • 1+ years developing software in a Linux environment
  • 1+ years of experience using JUnit, Maven, Jenkins

Technical Skill Preferred

  • Experience working in an Agile (Scrum) environment using Jira and Confluence
  • Experience with distributed technologies such as Hadoop, Spark and Kafka
  • Experience with MongoDB, ElasticSearch, HBase or Accumulo data stores
  • Basic understanding of Python
  • Basic understanding JavaScript
